Mixed Berry Smoothie Dessert

To decrease fat content, eliminate almonds.  To decrease calorie content, eliminate almonds and dates.

I freeze the small packets of assorted berries they sell at the supermarket like raspberries, strawberries, blackberries and blueberries.  I rinse the frozen berries with cold water and remove the stems of the strawberries, about 3 to 4 cups.  I throw all the berries into my wonderful blender (Vitamix...highly recommend).  I add four pitted dates and 1/3 cup of unsalted, raw almonds, and one teaspoon of vanilla or almond extract, and enough unsweetened almond milk to immerse all the berries.  I blend well.  I then pour some of the smoothie into a tall glass and add a layer of Bob's honey granola over the top.  It is a cool and refreshing dessert.  It is amazing how the dates sweeten it so well.
