Green Beans ( can use same technique for cauliflower, broccoli, asparagus, )
Prep time: 5 minutes
Cook time : 15 minutes
Large bunch of fresh green beans
Three cloves of garlic, crushed
½ cup of chopped walnuts
¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
Rinse and cut the hard tips off of green beans. Place beans in a microwave dish with three tablespoons of water, cover,and microwave for about 7 minutes.
Take a large skillet and add 1 teaspoon of olive oil and heat to medium. Add garlic, walnuts, and red pepper flakes. Saute for a few minutes to let walnuts roast but you do not want to burn the garlic. Add the beans. Add ¼ teaspoon of salt and ¼ teaspoon of black pepper. Cover with lid. Periodically stir the beans. Cook until tender to your taste. Adjust salt and pepper..
